TUFLOW Technical Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct pre-release testing and benchmarking of new software features across flood, urban drainage, pipe network, coastal hydraulics, water quality, sediment transport, and particle tracking modelling. Develop deep expertise in TUFLOW Classic/HPC, TUFLOW FV, and TUFLOW CATCH systems while contributing to user support, educational activities, and training workshops that may require international travel. Liaise with developers to capture industry needs for continual product enhancement and document new features for manuals and wikis. Assist customers to ensure a positive user experience and present technical solutions to individuals and small groups. Based in Australia, preferably Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne, with a requirement for a relevant engineering degree and 3–8 years of TUFLOW experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or other relevant area of study
- 3 to 8 years of experience post-graduation using TUFLOW and/or TUFLOW FV and/or TUFLOW CATCH
- Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) particularly QGIS, ArcMap and/or MapInfo
- Be based in Australia, preferably Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne
- Experience in or ability to learn various programming tools and languages, including Python
- Team player with a good balance of interpersonal and technical skills
- Customer-facing attitude and ability to operate within a team and independently
- Desire to help others through aiding, training, and presenting to individuals and small groups
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate initiative and take a proactive approach to tasks
