Job Summary

Process fees, post transactions to the Trust Accounting System, and update spreadsheets to adjust cost basis. Perform daily balances with the trust accounting vendor, open and close accounts, and distribute various reports. Process disbursements from Trust Accounts to escrow, upload tax information to web platforms, and review charitable trust tax deposits on EFTPS. Maintain administrative logs, prepare correspondence and bills, and inventory the vault quarterly. Provide customer service while rotating through various positions within the department as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Business Administration or equivalent education and experience
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in trust, banking, paralegal, accounting, brokerage or insurance environment
  • Experience in the securities and/or trust administration area
  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment, including Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of securities movement and control unique to the trust and brokerage industry
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules rotating to various positions within the department as necessary
  • Working knowledge of database and accounting software, with ability to setup plus analyze and interpret report data
  • Understanding of Trust Accounting Systems
  • Must be a strategic thinker and able to support the growth of the NBT Financial Group
