Job Summary
Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to perform detailed design for onshore/offshore projects, applying API/ISO/ASME codes, reviewing client specs (PTS/DEP), evaluating vendor data (FAT/VDR/TBE/TBT), and delivering technical outputs (MDs, TS, MR/SR). Role requires in-depth knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, thermodynamics, rotor dynamics, and materials selection, with the ability to coordinate with piping, process, civil, electrical, and structural teams, participate in HAZOP, and travel for overseas assignments. Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for a fixed-term contract, with leadership responsibilities and QA/HSE obligations.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. Hons)
- Minimum 7 years of engineering design experience in rotating equipment for onshore/offshore
- Experience with codes and standards (API/ISO/ASME) and client specifications (e.g., PTS, DEP)
- Ability to review vendor data and perform VDR/TBE/TBT
- Willingness to travel and be stationed at various centers/offices (overseas assignments)
- Ability to lead or coordinate engineering work, perform design calculations, and produce technical deliverables (MDs, TS, MR/SR)
- Experience with FAT/shop testing and interfacing with other disciplines
- Knowledge of materials selection and corrosion considerations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Lead Engineer responsibilities and project delivery
- Knowledge of HAZOP participation and action closeout
- Understanding of rotating equipment performance and selection for process service
