Trust & Wealth Legal Counsel

Job Summary
Review proposed trust documents and legal agreements, working with bank personnel and outside counsel to modify practices that conform to legal requirements. Serve as counsel to Private Wealth Management staff to resolve account issues and discuss resolutions with Relationship Managers and the Private Operating Committee. Represent the bank in community relations and foster new business relationships while maintaining strict confidentiality. Keep informed of legislation affecting the Wealth Management industry and participate in relevant review committees. Perform all duties assigned by the Sr. Manager, Division Director, or General Counsel.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an ABA accredited law school
- Member of the Kansas Bar
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in estate planning and taxation
- Required JD
- Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Negotiating skills
- Ability to perform complex legal research
- Ability to provide competent legal advice
- Knowledge of federal/state affirmative action and equal employment laws/regulations

- LLM in Taxation
