Job Summary
Coordinate fiduciary tax return preparation with outside service providers, ensuring timely delivery of required information and resolution of follow-up items. Gather supporting documentation for personal income and federal estate tax returns, track filing deadlines, and obtain tax identification numbers for trusts and estates. Prepare and process basic tax forms, including Form 56, and monitor IRS and State of Michigan Treasury notices, coordinating responses with internal stakeholders and external preparers. Reconcile 1099 reporting across trust and pension systems, review tax worksheets, and confirm appropriate tax coding for account transactions. Support quarterly estimated tax payments, RC-T reporting, and annual investment reviews while maintaining strict confidentiality and accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- equivalent advanced coursework
- specialized trust and tax training
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
