Truss Tech Designer

Job Summary
Create truss placement plans, truss design drawings and truss quotes using proprietary software, translating blueprints and customer requirements into accurate designs for residential and commercial projects. Review colleagues’ work to reduce design errors, generate optimized shop paperwork for manufacturing, and communicate technical aspects with customers, general contractors, and sales staff. Plan and pace own work to meet productivity goals, while observing safety procedures and attending required meetings; seek in-depth analysis from experienced technicians when needed. Proactively document communications and use CAD/architectural design knowledge to determine appropriate structural applications.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of drafting, architectural design or CAD applications
- Use of proprietary software for construction design
- Strong attention to detail
- Use of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance
- Mathematics and measurement skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Mitek Software preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
