Job Summary
Operate saws and production equipment to cut lumber and building materials according to work orders, ensuring accurate dimensions and angles. Verify measurements, inspect cut products for quality, and retrieve materials to stack, band, label, and stage them for downstream assembly. Conduct daily equipment inspections, perform preventative maintenance, and maintain safe work areas while following OSHA requirements. Review production schedules to ensure materials are processed correctly and report any defects or malfunctions immediately. This role supports production operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, working closely with assembly and supervisory teams to meet goals. Forklift experience and familiarity with truss or woodworking production are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, measurements, and production instructions
- Basic math skills, including measuring and calculating dimensions accurately
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery safely
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Experience operating saws or production equipment
- Experience in manufacturing, truss production, woodworking, construction, or building materials environments
- Familiarity with measuring tools and reading cut lists
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with production systems
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift or material handling equipment experience preferred
