Truss Saw Operator/Sawyer

Job Summary
Operate web, linear, and component saws to supply boards for the truss building process, including setting up, adjusting, and performing routine cleaning and calibrations. Load lumber manually or with a forklift, verify cut lists and dimensions, and cut material to specified sizes while maximizing yield. Inspect lumber and finished components for grade, quality, and dimensional accuracy, monitoring inventory and communicating shortages. Perform blade inspections, replacements, and preventive maintenance, ensuring strict compliance with OSHA regulations, LOTO procedures, and PPE standards. Work outside in varying temperatures with high noise levels, lifting up to 80 pounds and maintaining a clean, organized work area. Collaborate with the production team to meet daily schedules and support efficient workflow.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 80 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
- Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses
- Must be able to hear running machinery
- Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively
- Must have exceptional eye-hand coordination
- Must regularly be able to reach overhead
- Must regularly be able to sit, squat, bend, twist, and stand
- Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally
- Ability to be alert, focused, and detail-oriented at all times
- Demonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directions
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment, as well as work alone
- Demonstrate ability to use and operate hand tools, including reading a tape measure
- Demonstrate ability to stack material properly
- Comply with OSHA requirements and standards to wear all applicable PPE properly
Desired Qualifications

- Previous saw experience desired
