Job Summary
Supervise and support company CDL drivers by scheduling daily assignments, monitoring productivity, and coaching on safety and customer service policies. Coordinate dispatch activities, manage customer transportation requests, and build efficient schedules that maximize equipment utilization while ensuring loads complete safely and on time. Maintain full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and customer requirements by overseeing qualification files, medical certificates, hours of service, and drug testing programs. Monitor fleet availability, schedule preventative maintenance, and ensure drivers complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Participate in an on-call rotation to assist with deliveries, move equipment, or provide coverage during emergencies and staffing shortages. Take ownership of the day-to-day trucking operation to identify efficiency improvements and monitor key performance indicators.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of trucking operations, dispatch, or fleet management experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
- Experience managing CDL drivers
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and transportation management software
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license
- Class A CDL
