Job Summary
TRUCKING MANAGER responsible for operating the transportation network, developing and maintaining dispatch procedures to maximize delivery efficiency, selecting delivery methods to minimize costs and maximize customer satisfaction, and contracting with third-party providers to broaden the network. Responsibilities include dispatch coordination with cross-divisional collaboration, compiling and maintaining trucking schedules, communicating dispatch issues promptly, managing ongoing projects and liaison between project management and operations, maximizing fleet utilization, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities. Fleet/personnel duties cover safety policy communication, DOT compliance, coordinating preventive maintenance, supervising branch employees, and recruiting/training drivers. Coordination of owner-operator contracts and performance, development of partnerships with outside leased trucks, effective communication under high-stress conditions, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DNR, and safety/environmental regulations. Requires a high school diploma or GED (degree preferred but not required) and experience in trucking or related operations. The role is on-site at Bryan, TX, with full-time schedule and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, business, or a related field preferred but not required.
- 1-3 years of experience in trucking, logistics, dispatch, construction materials, or related operations preferred.
