Job Summary
Dispatch duties include scheduling and dispatching drivers, trucks, and loads; tracking shipments with GPS and dispatch software; communicating with drivers to resolve delivery issues; ensuring DOT and safety compliance; maintaining load and mileage records; matching freight with carriers and negotiating rates; handling billing, invoices, and documentation; building relationships with customers and carriers. Requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of dispatch or freight-brokerage experience preferred; familiarity with dispatch/TMS software (McLeod, DAT, Truckstop) and bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Strong communication and multitasking skills and willingness to work flexible hours or be on call. Starting pay at $45k annually with benefit offerings and growth opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- 1–3 years of dispatch or freight brokerage experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with dispatch or TMS software (e.g., McLeod, DAT, Truckstop) (preferred)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
