Job Summary
Unload incoming delivery trucks safely and efficiently, then sort mixed freight by department to streamline stocking. Pull accurate systemic replenishment merchandise and stage inventory by department for the overnight task team. Inspect incoming cartons for damage and report discrepancies while ensuring all staged carts, pallets, and racks are stable and clearly labeled. Maintain the receiving area layout and keep the work zone clean, neat, and safe. Communicate inventory flow needs clearly with the overnight task team and interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner. Perform simple math and follow all company policies to maintain inventory accuracy and a productive environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to perform simple math (arithmetic, subtraction, multiplication)
- Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to our customers and other associates
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Management, coworkers and customers
- Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods
- Must be able to repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Must be able to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
- Must be able to operate machinery and/or power tools
- Must be able to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment
- Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information
- Must be able to move objects up to 100 pounds or more
- Must be able to work in tight and confined spaces
- Must be able to work in low or high temperatures
- Must be able to work in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind
- Must be able to work in noisy environments
- Must be able to work in hazardous conditions
- Must be able to work in small and/or enclosed spaces
- Must be able to perform tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation
- Must be able to choose from limited alternatives to resolve problems
- Must be able to make recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices
