Truck Shop Mechanic (Diesel)

Job Summary
Diagnose, service, and repair trucks and pickups, including diesel engines, electrical systems, and air brake components. Troubleshoot engine computer systems, perform maintenance on suspensions and drivetrains, and use diagnostic tools to resolve mechanical issues. Complete accurate repair orders, maintain shop tools, monitor parts inventory, and follow all safety procedures. This hands-on role in a fast-paced shop environment requires strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently. Candidates must have 3–5 years of diesel experience, ASE certification preferred, and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
Desired Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience
- Strong knowledge of truck systems including electrical, air, hydraulic, and drivetrain components
- Experience using diagnostic software and engine analysis tools
- Ability to work independently and manage workload in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- ASE certification or equivalent experience
- Post-secondary training in diesel technology or related field
- Experience with welding and fabrication
- CDL
