Job Summary
Truck Shop Mechanic on 1st & 2nd shifts responsible for repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline vocational trucks. Reads job orders and observes and listens to trucks to determine malfunctions and plan procedures. Installs ignition systems, aligns front wheels, replaces batteries and transmissions, replaces gas or diesel engines, inspects guards and safety devices, lubricates and services vehicles, fabricates lifting or towing attachments and hydraulic systems, performs collision repair, sand/polish/paint, completes standard maintenance, and ensures state inspections are met; requires ability to meet physical demands (up to 75 pounds), willingness to work 1st or 2nd shift, and adherence to OSHA safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field OR 2 years of related experience and/or training
- Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year
- Clean driving record
