Job Summary
Read job orders and diagnose malfunctions in electric, diesel, and gasoline vocational trucks by observing and listening to equipment in operation. Install ignition systems, align wheels, replace engines, and perform collision repair, sand prep, and paint. Fabricate special lifting attachments and hydraulic systems per schematic drawings while ensuring state inspection requirements are met. Lubricate vehicles, adjust safety devices, and adhere to OSHA and H&K safety policies. Work a 1st or 2nd shift schedule with hours regularly exceeding 40 per week.
Required Qualifications
- One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field OR 2 years of related experience and/or training
- Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year
- Clean driving record
- Willing and able to work a 1st or 2nd shift schedule
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Desired Qualifications
- 4 years of related experience and/or training
- State Inspection license
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications
