Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic, electrical, and air systems on heavy-duty trucks used in asphalt paving and construction across Iowa and Nebraska. Perform preventative maintenance, complete inspections to identify potential issues, and execute emergency repairs to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate work orders, ensure compliance with DOT regulations, and communicate equipment status to supervisors and drivers. This role requires a valid driver's license (CDL preferred), experience with diagnostic software, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Candidates must possess their own tools and pass a pre-employment drug screening. Required Qualifications
- Experience as a diesel or heavy truck mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and heavy-duty truck maintenance
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical failures efficiently
- Experience using diagnostic software and repair tools
- Ability to read service manuals and repair schematics
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to obtain a CDL
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in shop and field environments
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must possess your own tools
