Job Summary
Assemble, instrument, and upgrade prototype test objects for Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks in close cooperation with design engineering to support comprehensive testing activities. Build standard and advanced prototypes while maintaining specifications and performance standards, and efficiently repair vehicles and engines during breakdowns using advanced diagnostic techniques. Conduct regular troubleshooting and maintenance checks to identify potential issues and implement preventative measures, fine-tuning vehicles to enhance performance and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide feedback on design improvements based on hands-on testing outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of the ins and outs of big trailer trucks (Class 6, 7 and 8 trucks), including the ability to assemble and disassemble trailer components as needed
- Proven experience as a truck or bus mechanic, with hands-on experience specifically working with Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks
- Comprehensive knowledge of diesel engine systems, electrical systems, transmission systems, and other critical components relevant to Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues in heavy-duty trucks, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and safety practices related to truck and bus maintenance and repair
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to facilitate repairs and maintenance tasks
- Experience in performing routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards

- Shift: 1st Shift: 7AM – 4PM Eastern
