Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks and heavy vehicles to ensure safe and optimal operating conditions. Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections while diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools. Repair or replace faulty parts in engines, transmissions, brakes, and steering mechanisms, and conduct thorough inspections to identify potential safety concerns. Follow maintenance schedules and service guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance and keep accurate records of all work performed. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex problems and adhere to safety protocols. This role supports the transportation operations of the transport company with a long-term contract in Slovenia.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a vocational or technical training program in diesel mechanics or a related field
- Proven experience as a Truck Mechanic or in a similar role (2-5 years)
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other truck components
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical strength and stamina to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy parts and working in tight spaces
