Job Summary
Load outgoing trucks and unload incoming loads using a forklift or crane, selecting materials from shipping documentation and stacking items per established procedures. Monitor the loading process to ensure proper paperwork signing, compare inventory tags for accuracy, and communicate non-compliance issues to supervisors. Maintain up-to-date forklift certification, perform dock and storage area housekeeping, and retain carrier schedule flow. This role requires standing for prolonged periods, lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally, and climbing stairs or platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Forklift certification
- Crane training
- Ability to accurately select and load material properly to meet customer and production requirements
- Ability to accurately use tape measures, micrometers, and calipers
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to read and understand material tags and shipping/receiving documentation
- Knowledge of raw materials and shipping/receiving processes
- Knowledge of and ability to comply with safety rules and requirement
- Ability to routinely climb stairs, ladders, or platforms
- Ability to routinely bend and squat
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to repetitively grasp
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
