Job Summary
Truck Fleet Mechanic for SpartanNash/C&S Wholesale Grocers family: responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance and repair on diesel semi-trucks and trailers. Adheres to safety standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with supervisors on work orders, uses maintenance systems to document work, and performs DOT inspections on tractors and trailers, including repairing air brake components, electrical systems, cooling and suspension components, wheel seals, hubs, and refrigerant-related systems as needed. Must have a high school diploma or GED, 3-5 years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and bring essential tools; may require SpartanNash certification and will work a schedule that may include weekends/nights/overtime. Location: Midland, GA.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent (GED) required
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Must provide and maintain essential mechanic tools and toolbox
- Must complete SpartanNash certification for safe driving skills for material handling equipment, tractors, and trailers (training provided)
- DOT inspections on tractors and trailers
- Repair and replace air brake components on tractors and trailers
- Replace starters, alternators, batteries
- Diagnose and repair cooling systems
- Service suspension components
- Replace wheel seals and hubs
- Maintain service records and repair documentation
- Service hydraulic liftgates (preferred)
- Travel requirements vary by assignment
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary
