Job Summary
Install tow truck and wrecker bodies, snow plows, spreaders, and related truck equipment. Perform 12-volt electrical wiring, lighting, controls, and wiring harness installations. Weld and fabricate mounting brackets, frames, and structural components, while repairing and fabricating steel and aluminum parts. Modify truck bodies and frames as required, utilizing hydraulic systems where applicable. Work independently reading layouts with basic hand tools, possessing welding, fabrication, and mechanical experience. Earn $22.00 to $35.00/hour at New England TruckMaster in Plainville, CT, with medical, dental, and 401(k) benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Experience installing truck equipment, wreckers, plows, or similar vocational equipment
- Welding and metal fabrication experience
- Basic to intermediate 12-volt electrical knowledge
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read layouts and work independently
- Own basic hand tools
- High school diploma, trade school, or equivalent experience
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience installing truck equipment, wreckers, plows, or similar vocational equipment preferred
- Hydraulic experience is a plus, but we'll train the right person
