Job Summary
Load and unload products using a loader/boom with a grapple, placing items into yard bunks and onto truck/trailer combinations. Drive the truck to specified destinations, including drop staking at customer yards and job sites, while performing daily pre and post trip DOT inspections. Maintain records, documents, and permits; ensure cargo is secured per DOT regulations, and match quantities to shipping tickets. Assist in maintenance service of trucks and equipment, perform emergency roadside repairs, and install tire chains. Maintain radio contact with supervisors for delivery instructions and participate in the company safety program.
Required Qualifications
- One year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 – 4 years of commercial trucking experience
- Class A Commercial Driver's License Required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with self-loaders/heavy equipment operators preferred
- Experience with steering trailers preferred
