Truck Driver Roll Off (CDL)

Job Summary
Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of the vehicle and operate trucks to service trash, recycling, compost, and mixed waste bins along assigned routes. Clean up spills and overflows, return bins to proper areas, and utilize in-cab electronic systems to follow route requirements while communicating with dispatch via radio. Comply with hazardous waste handling procedures and safety regulations, reporting accidents or maintenance issues immediately. Maintain a positive attitude with coworkers and customers, participate in company-wide trainings, and manage time through multitasking. Requires a current CDL and DOT medical card. One year of refuse truck experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid commercial driver's license (CDLA) and DOT medical card
- Knowledge of principles of waste and recycling collection
- Knowledge of basic truck mechanics and parts
- Knowledge of federal, state and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude with coworkers and customers
- Ability to proactively establish trust and credibility with coworkers by maintaining accountability
- Ability to contribute to the team dynamic by promoting inclusion, support and collaboration amongst coworkers
- Ability to take initiative, self-manage time and productivity through multitasking
- Ability to effectively and concisely communicate both orally and in writing
- Ability to think independently and creatively to problem solve
- Ability to read and utilize on-board electronic routing system
Desired Qualifications
- One year of refuse truck driving experience preferred
- Experience in the resource recovery industry preferred
- High school diploma or GED preferred
