Job Summary
Inspect company vehicles for defects and complete daily inspection reports. Load or unload vehicles, verify material quantities and condition, and ensure all documentation is signed by customers. Pick up material returns from customers and collect supplies from company suppliers. May assist in preparing orders, performing counter sales, stocking shelves, and staging material. Senior drivers participate in training entry-level drivers and provide mentorship. Adhere to DOT and state driving laws, maintain assigned routes, and work overtime as needed. Valid driver's license and medical certificate required.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record
- Must obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire
- Must not have had a suspended driver's license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years
- Must not have any at fault accidents in the past 3 years
- Ability to handle loads with a combine weight not to exceed 26,000 GVW
- Ability to handle basic issues and problems
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and be familiar with traffic and driver laws
- Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position - Constantly – at least 51%
- Must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location - Occasionally – up to 20%
- Must be able to crouch down to stock shelves, pick up boxes, or position oneself to maintain computers in the lab/under desks/in server closet - Occasionally – up to 20%
- Must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder, forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment - Occasionally – up to 20%
- Must be able to use senses to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions - Constantly – at least 51%
- Must be able to handle Up to 10 pounds - Constantly – at least 51%
- Must be able to handle Up to 25 pounds - Constantly – at least 51%
- Must be able to handle Up to 50 pounds - Frequently – 21% to 50%
- Travels to offsite locations - Constantly – at least 51%
- Must attend company driver training
