Job Summary
Operate a 26-foot straight truck to transport and deliver donated goods to Attended Donation Centers across Central New York, safely unloading carts at centers and returning them to the Liverpool warehouse. Perform truck inspections and maintenance to ensure vehicle safety, document driving hours and fuel/toll receipts, and comply with all driving regulations and company policies. Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with donation center staff and the public. Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to truck driving rules, reporting any defects, accidents, or violations. Submit background and drug checks as required.
Required Qualifications
- Clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of truck driving rules and regulations and ability to adhere to them
- Ability to handle unexpected situations, such as traffic and weather challenges
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to represent the Rescue Mission professionally
- Ability to perform vehicle inspections, perform preventative maintenance, and keep work areas clean and organized
- Willingness to submit background and drug checks and provide employment recommendations
- Truck maneuvering abilities
- Ability and willingness to carry out delivery instructions and to report any defects, accidents, and violations
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid NYS CDL 'B'/A with air brake endorsement in compliance with company driving criteria required
- Weekend Availability
- Part-Time
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of previous driving experience preferred
