Job Summary
Drive routes for pickup and drop-off of donations at the warehouse, assigned boxes, and donor homes while ensuring vehicle security and performing daily walk-around inspections. Plan daily routing based on assigned pick-ups, make all scheduled calls, and maintain complete and accurate records using an iPad with GPS. Load and unload trucks, securing goods with blankets and ropes to prevent movement or damage, and assist Thrift Store personnel in proper item placement. You will instruct and supervise a Truck Helper in a rehabilitation program, modeling professional conduct to support the work therapy component of Adult Rehabilitation Centers. Adhere to communication procedures, company dress code, and the Manual for Production Assistants, reporting any accidents or problems immediately to the supervisor or dispatcher.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Valid driver's license for assigned vehicles and acceptable DMV record
- Must pass driving test
- Must be able to read maps and plan and prioritize daily route coverage
- Must be able to use iPad with GPS, texting, and truck inspection report
- Must have good communication and customer service skills
- Medical card required depending on city and/or state requirement
- Passing a DOT Physical is a requirement of the job
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds
- Must be able to sit over 1/3 of the time
- Must be able to stand over 2/3 of the time
- Must be able to walk over 2/3 of the time
- Must be able to reach over 2/3 of the time
- Must be able to push/pull using machinery
- Must be able to climb under 1/3 of the time
- Must be able to stoop under 1/3 of the time
- Must adhere to communication procedures
- Must maintain complete and accurate records
- Must be able to treat customers courteously
- Must accept or refuse donations appropriately
- Must strictly follow the Manual for Production Assistants
- Must report any problems in pickups immediately to the dispatcher
- Must maintain a professional appearance in compliance with company dress code
- Must exhibit loyalty to The Salvation Army and the staff of the Adult Rehabilitation Centers
