Truck Driver - Paid by the Load

Job Summary
Operate a heavy-capacity commercial truck to transport steel products between locations, performing daily vehicle inspections and monthly checklists to ensure mechanical and safety equipment is functional. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, secure cargo using ropes and binders, and inspect material for defects before and after trips. Report vehicle defects, accidents, or damage, and maintain all required inspection paperwork and documentation. Follow a pre-determined schedule of pickups and deliveries while complying with all D.O.T and FMCSR requirements. Requires a Class A CDL license, two years of driving experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to operate a clutch pedal
- Ability to operate a tractor trailer for up to 10 consecutive hours
- Knowledge of and ability to comply with all D.O.T and FMCSR requirements as well as applicable state laws
- Class A CDL License
- two years of driving experience
- Ability to climb on and off the semi-trailer as needed
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- steel hauling preferred
