Job Summary
Drive a 26' straight truck delivering solo freight to local, OR, WA, and ID routes. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws while detecting and minimizing safety hazards. Load and unload freight when required by the customer. Maintain accurate records and follow written or oral instructions. Operate equipment including pallet jacks, lift gates, stair crawlers, and tablets. Work Monday through Friday with some weekends, starting at 7:00 AM, for 40+ hours per week. Hotel and meals are provided for overnights.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Must have verifiable driving experience (*must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
