Job Summary
Drive a 26' box truck within a 250-mile radius of Edgewood, NY, delivering solo freight including windows and doors to locations like the 5 Burroughs. Operate a dolly and door cart equipped vehicle on a local home daily route, Monday through Friday with no weekends, starting dispatch at 5:00 AM. Ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations while maintaining accurate records and assisting with loading/unloading as required. Detect and minimize safety hazards during operations. This role involves operating well-maintained trucks with roadside support and offers weekly pay, paid training, and a retention bonus structure.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Must have verifiable driving experience (*must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the 10 years
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
