Job Summary
Drive a straight truck within a 200 air mile radius of Rochester, NY, delivering donated goods on a local home daily route. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws while detecting and minimizing safety hazards. Load and unload freight or assist customers as required. Maintain accurate records and follow written or oral instructions. Operate well-maintained equipment with 24/7 roadside support. Start at 8:30 AM for a 7-day operation schedule with two days off, working 40–45 hours weekly. Weekly pay averages $968.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Must have verifiable driving experience (*must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the 10 years
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
