Job Summary
Drive a box truck locally within an 80-mile radius of Syracuse, NY, delivering auto parts on a Monday through Friday home daily schedule starting between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Safely operate the vehicle while ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, detecting hazards, and maintaining accurate records. Load or unload freight as required by the customer. This role involves operating well-maintained trucks with 24/7 roadside maintenance support.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Must have verifiable driving experience (*must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
