Job Summary
Truck Driver for Morton Salt operating a commercial motor vehicle to transport freight locally, delivering to customers and representing the company. Responsibilities include pre-trip and post-trip inspections, loading/unloading freight (including forklift operation), maintaining ELD logs, adhering to SOPs and DOT regulations, and communicating with customers to ensure satisfaction. Requires valid Class A CDL, clean driving record, ability to lift 50 lbs, and the ability to read/write English. Work includes varying shifts and potential overtime; must be able to pass DOT licensing and physical requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with no Automatic Restriction
- Minimum of one year of tractor-trailer driving experience OR graduation from a recognized CDL training program
- Must qualify to be insurable as a CDL driver
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway and traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, read a bill of lading, and make accurate entries in daily driving log.
