Job Summary
Operate tractor trailers, straight trucks, and 15-passenger buses on assigned routes, conducting pre-trip checklists and maintaining daily trip logs. Load and unload trailers, transport goods to designated locations, and perform forklift duties including sorting, packing, and moving items up to 50 pounds. Ensure compliance with transportation policies and federal regulations while identifying safety issues and customer service needs. Manage time independently to meet daily logistics goals and travel within and outside the LLGI territory.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year experience driving and operating a tractor trailer and straight trucks
- Must be 21 years old
- Possess a valid CDL (Class A Preferred)
- Certification as a forklift operator or ability to obtain certification within 6 months
- Compliance with all Federal Motor Carrier regulations
- Compliance with federal, state and local driving / transportation regulations
- Ability to perform sorting and packing tasks to secure donations
- Ability to work a variety of schedules
- Ability to recognize potential issues before they arise, and recommend appropriate solutions
- Documentation of the successful completion of the USDOT Medical Examination
- Valid driver's license
- Safe driving record

- Ability to work independently while fostering a strong team atmosphere
- Convey information clearly through verbal and written communication
- Maintain confidentiality of information related to LLGI operations, financial matters and personnel matters

- Ability to push carts weighing a minimum of 250 pounds
- Ability to safely use pallet jack with loads ranging from 100 to 700 pounds
- Ability to perform a combination of tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, reaching, carrying, pushing or pulling objects
- Ability to reach by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction
- Ability to work in a light industrial/warehouse environment
- Visual acuity to work in an environment with changing and/or low light levels
