Job Summary
Safely transport scrap metal and recyclable materials between company facilities, suppliers, and customer locations in Southern California. Complete local pick-ups and deliveries while maintaining on-time performance, properly securing all loads to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards. Verify shipping paperwork, conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and submit accurate daily driver logs. Operate roll-off equipment and handle roll-off bins safely, following all federal DOT regulations, California traffic laws, and company policies. Requires a valid CDL Class A license, prior tractor-trailer experience, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A Commercial Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Previous experience operating tractor-trailers/semi-trucks
- Experience operating roll-off trucks and handling roll-off containers
- Knowledge of proper load securement procedures for heavy, oversized, or irregular loads
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with dispatch and operations personnel
