Job Summary
Operate heavy combination vehicles to transport and deliver freight safely and efficiently within port logistics operations. Conduct pre-start and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance or safety issues immediately. Complete all deliveries and collections within required timeframes while ensuring freight is secured and handled according to regulatory standards. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate promptly with the operations team regarding delays. Comply with all company policies, Chain of Responsibility requirements, and workplace health and safety standards. This permanent full-time position requires a current HC Heavy Vehicle Licence and valid Maritime Security Identification Card.
Required Qualifications
- Current HC Heavy Vehicle Licence with a strong and safe driving record
- Current and valid Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) – essential
- Previous experience in container transport, port logistics or a similar freight environment
- Strong understanding of heavy vehicle safety, Chain of Responsibility and road transport requirements
- Reliable, safety-focused and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with drivers, customers and the operations team
