Job Summary
Transport materials to and from designated locations in a safe and efficient manner, picking up full containers and unloading at specified sites. Secure loads according to Department of Transportation guidelines while maintaining contact with Dispatch to receive assignments and report trip numbers. Operate the vehicle safely in a fast-paced environment, resolving issues and providing solutions independently or within a team. This role requires a valid Class A license, knowledge of motor carrier regulations, and general mechanics skills. Candidates must pass a background check, physical, and drug screening. Located in Baton Rouge, LA, the position offers hourly pay between $19 and $25.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid Class A license
- General knowledge of State and Federal motor carrier regulations
- General knowledge of mechanics involving trucks and trailers
- Ability to operate the vehicle safely
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong work ethic, teamwork skills, and ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Creative problem solving skills, and the ability to resolve issues and provide solutions
- Experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environment
- Customer service skills
