Job Summary
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency laws and regulations while detecting and minimizing safety hazards. Maintain accurate records and logs, and perform loading or unloading of freight as required by the customer. Deliver solo freight from Iowa to the East Coast in a 53' dry van sleeper tractor with electric pallet jack, operating between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM on a 7-day schedule with a 34-hour home reset. Complete a Ryder road test and pass a DOT physical, drug test, and background check. Earn an average of $1700 weekly plus solo mile and stop pay, per diem, and a $2000 sign-on bonus. Receive paid training and equipment maintenance support.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
- 9 months experience within the past 3 years
- 2 years' experience within the last 5 years
- 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
