Job Summary
Drive tractor trailers to deliver and pick up customer freight between company terminals and work sites within a defined geographic area. Sort, handle, load, and unload freight at various locations while planning routes and schedules for timely deliveries. Follow established pre-trip, post-trip, freight handling, and billing procedures, conducting inspections by safety and quality control standards. Retain records, forms, and load-related paperwork, serving as the first point-of-contact for delivery-related issues. Ensure freight is delivered in a claims-free and cost-efficient manner.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with hazmat, tanker and twin trailer endorsements
- No DUI, DWI or license suspension for moving violations in any vehicle within three (3) years of the date of application
- No chargeable accidents or serious traffic violations within a six (6) month period immediately preceding the date of application
- Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language in order to perform the various tasks of the job, including but not limited to: converse with co-workers and members of the general public, understand oral and written instructions as well as government regulations, respond to questions and inquiries from management and government representatives, understand highway traffic signs and signals, and accurately review and complete various shipping documents, reports and records required...
