Job Summary
Operate a tractor-trailer and/or straight truck to deliver merchandise to stores efficiently and safely, including picking up and returning merchandise and empty totes to the distribution center. Perform timely deliveries while navigating inner-city routes in Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, and Richmond, VA. Work day, evening, and overnight shifts with a consistent 5-day schedule, maintaining a home daily. Ensure all Department of Transportation requirements are met, including three years of verifiable driving experience and a clean driving record with no preventable accidents or criminal offenses involving commercial vehicles.
Required Qualifications
- Meet all Department of Transportation requirements concerning driver qualifications (FMCSR 391.11)
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable driving experience
- Must be comfortable with inner-city driving
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last four (4) years
- Two or fewer violations of motor vehicle laws (other than parking) within the past three (3) years
- No conviction of any offense involving impaired driving within the last five (5) years
- No conviction of careless or reckless driving within the last five (5) years
- No preventable accidents that ever resulted in a fatality or catastrophic injury
- No conviction of a criminal offense involving a commercial vehicle (FMCSR Sec. 383.51 and 391.15)
Desired Qualifications
- Preference given to experienced store-side delivery drivers or inner-city drivers
