Job Summary
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules while detecting and eliminating safety hazards. Maintain accurate records and logs, and load or unload freight as required by the customer. Operate a 26' straight truck Conestoga on local home daily routes between Edison, NJ and destinations in NJ, NY, PA, CT, and sometimes CT. Deliver HVAC equipment using a tractor with manual pallet jack and hand truck, requiring Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire. Start shifts Monday through Friday between 4:30 AM and 5:00 AM, earning $28.56 per hour with guaranteed 40-hour weeks and weekly pay. You must possess a Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement, at least 9 months of recent tractor trailer experience, and ability to follow instructions and interpret regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Must have Class A or Class B verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
- 9 months experience within the past 3 years
- 2 years' experience within the last 5 years
- 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
- MUST have experience with load securement, strapping
- Endorsements: Hazmat Required - Within 90 Days of Hire
