Job Summary
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules while detecting and eliminating safety hazards. Maintain accurate records and logs, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures regarding freight check-in and check-out. Perform other duties as assigned while driving a Day Cab with a Dry Van 53' trailer carrying Auto Parts freight. Schedule runs Monday through Saturday or Sunday through Friday, with start times determined by a bid system based on seniority. Earn a weekly minimum guarantee of $1,050 during training and $1,715 after, plus team miles, stops, and drop/hook pay. Gain proficiency through an 8-week training program with experienced facilitators. Deliver freight across the Carolinas, Kentucky, Michigan, Illinois, and Texas.
Required Qualifications
- Class A CDL License
- 9 months or less of CDL driving experience
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a Ryder background and a Motor Vehicle Registration check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
