Job Summary
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules while detecting and eliminating safety hazards. Maintain accurate records and logs, and load or unload freight as required by the customer. Operate a dry van tractor within a 150-mile radius of Eagan, MN, performing local home daily deliveries for US Mail tailgate freight. Work a part-time schedule of 24 hours per week from Friday to Sunday, with dispatch starting between 3:00 am and 9:00 am. Ryder provides paid training on all necessary equipment and offers weekly pay with a health and wellness stipend. Drivers receive PTO starting day one and access to roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 locations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
- 9 months experience within the past 3 years
- 2 years' experience within the last 5 years
- 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
- Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959, unless there is a legal exemption
- A secondary background screen - Federal Level 2 conducted by the USPS
