Job Summary
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules while detecting and minimizing safety hazards. Maintain accurate records and logs, and load or unload freight as required by the customer. Perform other duties as assigned during local home daily routes within a 150-mile radius of Tampa, FL. Deliver dry van freight for USPS Touch – US Mail using a 36-month or newer tractor with a 53' dry van and rolling carts. Work Monday through Saturday with Sunday off, starting dispatch at 10:00 AM and ending at 9:00 PM. Complete paid training on all equipment and pass a DOT physical, road test, and background screening.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
- 9 months experience within the past 3 years
- 2 years' experience within the last 5 years
- 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
- Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959, unless there is a legal exemption
