Job Summary
Truck Driver at BTD, a Midwest/Southeast metalworking company, drives company trucks and delivers products to outside service vendors and between BTD locations across states. Performs pre/post-trip vehicle inspections, reports issues, and follows safety policies. Represents the company professionally, maintains a clean and safe work area, and uses software to enter time and payroll information. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of recent Class A driving experience, valid Class A CDL and Medical Card, knowledge of tractor-trailer operation and Federal/state regulations, and the ability to operate and maintain Class A trucks while following instructions and building professional working relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- At least 1 year of recent Class A driving experience that includes tractor-trailer operation
- Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and Medical Card
- Strong working knowledge of tractor-trailer operation, loading and minor maintenance
- Strong working knowledge of State and Federal motor carrier regulations
- Ability to operate, load and maintain Class A truck/trailer equipment in a safe, effective manner
- Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
