Job Summary
CDL driver for chemical distribution operating Class 8 tractors, hauling hazmat and non-hazmat materials, including liquids and solids. Responsibilities include bulk and packaged deliveries, loading/unloading with pumps and related equipment, completing required paperwork, and ensuring DOT/OSHA compliance within Brenntag safety standards. Uses late-model trucks, maintains equipment, adheres to safety policies, and maintains open communication with dispatch. Requires DOT medical card, ability to drive manual transmissions, and familiarity with technology platforms (Samsara). Home time and overtime/weekend availability are part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements (as required)
- DOT medical card
- Ability to read, comprehend and write in English; basic math skills
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- TWIC card or application in process (if location requires)
- Ability to operate manual transmission
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and forklift (if required by location)
- Hazmat and safety policy compliance
- Experience with chemical delivery may be considered in lieu of formal education
- Ability to learn and operate technology-based devices (Samsara, transportation platforms)
