Job Summary
Drive Salvation Army trucks along scheduled routes to pick up donations and deliver merchandise, operating in compliance with established standards and state regulations. Lift, carry, load, and unload furniture, appliances, and clothing while ensuring vehicle and cargo safety. Confers regularly with the Donations Scheduler to maintain awareness of pickup schedules and assists the Truck Helper in stacking donations. Maintain strong relationships with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army and perform general thrift store and warehouse assistance. Requires a valid state driver's license with CDL endorsement if needed, one year of heavy-duty truck experience, and the ability to perform strenuous work involving lifting up to 50 lbs regularly. Work involves daily driving with exposure to outdoor weather conditions and noise.
Required Qualifications
- Valid State Driver's License with CDL endorsement, if required
- Ability to drive a heavy-duty truck
- Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects up to 50 lbs regularly and greater than 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing
- One year experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van
- any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Desired Qualifications
