Job Summary
Drive the Salvation Army truck to pick up clothing, furniture and other items between Salvation Army stores as scheduled by the production supervisor; assist with forklift operation, loading items onto the rag truck, and moving stock; perform daily truck maintenance checks, ensure cleanliness, and document fluid levels, tire pressure and belts; load and dispose of non-usable items at landfill; maintain positive relationships with supervisors, donors, and staff; load and haul donations, packing items to maximize space and prevent damage; physical duties include heavy lifting up to 100 lbs. Must have a High School diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- one year of experience driving a heavy duty truck or large van or equivalent training/experience
- valid driver's license
- ability to communicate effectively orally
- physical fitness
- heavy lifting up to 100 lbs
- ability to drive and operate a truck with a bed or cabin 14' or longer
- ability to operate a liftgate and various hand trucks/carts
- ability to follow directions
