Job Summary
Truck Driver (6190) drives Salvation Army truck on scheduled routes to pick up donations and deliver merchandise, operates vehicle per standards and regulations, assists with loading/unloading donations, prepares receipts, and maintains safety and accountability of vehicle and donations. Responsibilities include coordinating with Dispatcher on pickups, planning efficient routes to save time and fuel, assisting in warehouse and thrift-store operations, and maintaining donor relationships. Requires ability to perform heavy lifting and drive a heavy-duty truck, plus map-reading and route-scheduling skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
- One year experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van, or any equivalent combination of training and experience
- Valid State Driver's License
- Knowledge of the assigned geographical area
