Job Summary
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle, trailer, and equipment inspections, completing the checklist in Fleetio. Load and unload equipment safely with a second person, ensuring proper securing on trailers. Practice safe driving skills in all conditions, including the 4-second rule, and follow all vehicular safety regulations. Recognize mechanical issues with engines, brakes, and electrical systems, reporting damage to the Superintendent, Foreman, or Shop Foreman. Transport materials to jobsites and plants, following GPS for timely arrival. Spread and dump gravel efficiently, spotting the truck into the paver as directed. Perform non-driving general labor duties, provide daily materials tickets, maintain a clean truck, and fuel the vehicle nightly. Work weekends, nights, and long hours in all weather conditions while adhering to DOT requirements and safety-sensitive testing protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a CDL Class A
- Knowledge and ability to use GPS devices
- Ability to work weekends and occasional nights
- Ability to travel to various worksites
- Ability to work long hours and in all weather conditions
- Subject to Drug and Alcohol testing per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)
- Must register for the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and consent to AA Asphalting reviewing their Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse record
- Pre-employment drug screen required
- Criminal background check required
