Job Summary
Lifeguards must have a valid lifeguard certification and demonstrate lifeguard skills per YMCA standards. Swim instructors are required to assist individuals and provide swim education. Both positions are part-time with shifts available on weekdays and weekends. Candidates must be at least 16 years old, possess basic computer skills, and complete various required trainings within specified timeframes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16 or older
- Valid lifeguard certification (within 30 days of hire)
- Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
- Ability to pass the CDYMCA swim test
- Basic computer skills
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to relate to diverse groups
- Basic life support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration (completed within 30 days of hire)
- Trainings in New Employee Orientation, Sexual Harassment, ALICE, and Bloodborne Pathogens (completed within 90 days of hire)
